Portal for Budding Artists
The basic notion is to create a website so that artists of all forms (drawing, painting, music, writing, singing, sculpture) can upload samples of their works in the hope that an agent would sign them up or even they can sell direct.
Such a website would be a kind of artistic network. The income for the site would be on a commission basis when the agent agrees to a contract or when the artists starts getting branded through the site, and sells direct.
Target groups would in colleges, artists working part-time, and struggling artists. The site would need facilities to play music, download written samples, and be well linked internally. A voting system for visitors would be good too.
I saw on Dragons Den in a old series two people trying to build a web site to help unknown artists publish their music. I had the same idea years before. The Dragons all agreed the idea was great but failed to invest as they considered the people lacked the expertise to make it happen.

I like the TV series of the Dragons Dens too! I have not seen that episode. What type of expertise are they lacking? Programming or Marketing? Let's hope that through Gogme, we are able to gain some business expertise to run our own business in the future. It is a good idea and I think you should submit it to the idea database. Add some social networking elements into it and it will be an awesome website.

Something of what Sotheby and Christie do but for amateur and budding artists. A good idea! If you can combine the social networking suggested in the last post along with eBay mechanisms then it would be a good combination.
