Airport e-Ticket Screening
Industry
Business Idea Overview
Nowadays, you can just print an e-ticket and walk into the airport with a photo ID card. It is not verified whether you have a valid e-ticket against any computer tracking system at the airport entrace.
All airports maintain databases for the different flights departing on that particular day. The only addition or integration needed here is the flight manifest and the e-ticket number.
What makes the idea profitable, distinct or superior
This is something that is lacking at all airports in India. Such a mechanism would enhance security all over.
Improvements / Consolidated Suggestions
The first phase could use tracking mechanisms like PNR. Phase two enhancement could be the e-ticket barcode scanner.

Not Been There Done That
Explanation: A centralized database for all flight passenger manifests for airlines operating from that particular airport. This way security personnel can screen the correct reservations against forged ones. Every airline website has their own online booking management system but there is no centralized database avaialable for the same in India.
I don't think you got the idea... May be a fault on my end to not clearly mention the business idea or a oversight on your part. AirAsia is an online ticketing site and these are in abundance in India as well. All airlines have their websites where you can book tickets online and other websites like (www.makemytrip.com www.cleartrip.com www.ezeego1.com) have sprouted recently.
I would suggest that you do your research a bit more thoroughly before shooting down ideas. I appreciate constructive criticism but half-baked comments are not appreciated. Then again, it's your opinion and I cannot change it. Everyone has the freedom to think (whether it's correct or incorrect is a different conversation altogether!!) :)

Been there, done that
Now that you mention "in India", well... what your idea suggesting is what Airasia (www.airasia.com) has already done centuries ago... sorry, as Simon Cowell of American idol might say, "your idea is like a bathroom singer: enthusiastic on the outside, big null in the inside"
