Shop TV Wardrobe

Business Idea Overview
Fans who watch TV shows, films and music videos love to get the latest fashion and accessory looks from their favorite TV characters.
We're talking about consumers who want to own the same pair of jeans that Meredith wears on "Grey's Anatomy" or a dress that was seen on Gabrielle's character on "Desperate Housewives." The Times dubs this new phenomenon "shopping-enabled entertainment," a rapidly-growing marketplace now aided by several new websites selling the most popular and fashionable of the as-seen-on-TV products to consumers.
Shopping enabled entertainment gives a whole new meaning to product placement where viewers no longer have to be persuaded by advertisers to buy their products, but instead their brands are being actively sought-out by a celebrity-obsessed culture.
This is a great business model to help brands and advertisers to place their branded products more effectively.

Marketing Opportunity
I like your analysis of the situation. The question i have is where you come in? Are you going to establish deals with celebrities and brands to have them promote each other, or are you just going to be a online shop? Because if it is just an online shop, you may have to deal with competition coming up on you in no time... Just my 2 cents. Cheers
Operation Methode
First of all, I can see a bright future in this idea.
Operation Methods/Approach
1) Create a copy of the dress / accessories the celebrity wears. Find a manufacturer that can re-produce the product and sell it thru the internet, shops and etc.
2) Create a forum / blog where peoples of the world can REQUEST the product that they wanted which they had saw the celebrity wears. Identify and reproduce the product.
3) Buy the original / the actual dress / accessories the celebrity wears, and sell it at bid price.
4) Market it thru internet / and tv. Just after the celebrity show / programme.
This is a good idea
i think this is a good idea as i know there are ppl who talked about what they watched yesterday and last weekend and how pretty or smartly dress the actor/actress was.
and though there would be issues of legality when you talk abt stars/celebrities and/or use their name... but i believe this can be solved in some ingenius way.
marketing such a business/site should be quite easy.
I think this is a brilliant idea.
In fact if we turn the table a little bit around,we could actually decide what the celebrity wears during the show.It might sound a bit absurd but here,s how it works.
1. The marketing company ties up with the producers of the shows(obviously giving them a share of the profit) with regard to clothes, shoes, hairdo,s etc worn by the celebrities.
2. The company then calls for bids from designers, clothing brands etc who would want to promote their products through the show. This kind of marketing will be quite revolutionary as they (designers, chlothing brands etc)could promote their brand with excellent exposure.
3.The celebrities then would be given a choice( of course screened thro their designers) to choose some particular brand every season or something.
4.Insted of advertisements there would be detailed description of the various products promoted in the show during the break. With details on how to order.
5.Despatching the merchandise.
This is not foolproof and needs a lot of finer details to be worked out but this is only a guideline that the concept could work around.
Cheers...and a truly brilliant idea.

Keeping it up to date!
First off... fantastic idea!
They only worry I'd have would be keeping it up to date.
1) How would you find out what jeans Meredith was wearing in a particular episode; and
2) Who would keep this up to date? The clothes manufacturers? Consumers? The website owners? I'm sure there are a lot of fashion items worn by a lot of celebrities so this could be a stumbling block.
I still think it's a great idea though.
