Pricing strategy

Submitted by Mervyn Mitchell on Tue, 08/19/2008 - 02:37.

Whilst there may be huge health benefits in the idea, people may still go to the traditional junk food outlets if the price is higher. In South Africa, we have the gym pairing up with the health food shop but the prices are exhorbitant.

Really think so?

Submitted by joaomesk on Wed, 09/03/2008 - 01:38.

If you want to make healthy fast food with natural ingredients to "fight" macs and huts and fried chickens...your target will allways be different from them, so you can charge the real value that healthy has, but just make it "fast"... People who will eat at your place has the same amount of time to eat as the other ones, so they just want it fast.
Its a funny thing the fast food concept, because it was made for business people who didnt had the time to eat, but who we see there are...kids, with tons of time in their hands, just because its cheap.
Where do you want to position your project?

Regards

Remember that fastfood not

Submitted by kegarden on Wed, 10/01/2008 - 22:20.

Remember that fastfood not only is fast, but it's easy too. If you can make a resturant, with fast, easy and giving the costumer a good feeling of beeing helthy, than this could really be good.

Green (environment) diet

Submitted by Inventor on Tue, 11/04/2008 - 15:54.

I like your idea. In SA, there is no law forcing manufacturers of any foodstuffs to write nutritional values or what kind of nutrition you would, for example, find in certain fruits/vegetables/meats etc. etc. A lot of us are therefore quite uneducated about what our bodies really need, how much of it, how frequently, etc. I think we have become a generation who pops vitamin and minerals in pill form and have no clue whatsoever on how to supplement our diet naturally.

To make this venture financially viable, and interesting, one should maybe consider offering fruits/veggies in season, but with variety in presentation and/or combination of other foodstuffs. I'm sure there are many ways to serve pumpkin/tomato/pineapple/fish, chicken, herbs, etc. etc. etc ? And knowing what they are good for will re-educate modern homo sapiens.
